Hike the AT from Rte 33 (Windgap) to Rte 61 (Hamburg), PA.

Monday February 20 to Friday February 24. These are the miles I had to skip when I hiked the AT in 2011. The weather says it will be in the 50's during the day so hiking would actually be nice. 60 miles should be a breeze for those of us who have hiked/camped before. I would like to meet at the end rte 61 just north of Cabelas and carpool to the beginning so that we have a way to return to our cars. This is my first as a group organizer so any suggestions or comments, please don't hesitate to let me know! I would think that if you are interested, you already know the pros and cons of hiking and know that it is at your own risk. While I believe that I would help someone if needed, I would like to hike, have fun and enjoy it and not be worried so much about a "beginner". I will be bringing my dog and my tent so that we are not a nuisance in the shelter if need be. Again, please let me know if your interested and any thoughts. Thank you. Jay

No problem, it is not unusual for me to mess up times and dates. So I have to be very careful with them. This is especially true as it seems as though while in the process of creating events at times I think they change on their own.

So far no one has signed up to go so I don't know if anyone is driving in from Philly. As for the maps, the end point on the meet up page is pretty detailed. As for the Rte 33 Wind Gap map, I will have to give you the address to the Wind Gap Diner, which is the closest address to the trail head, is about a half a mile south. Also, the interactive map on www.appalachiantrail.org has a detailed map of the whole trail which would be great to check out and see exactly where that location i

So far no one has signed up. I was hoping that one other person could meet me at the end of the hike so that we could car pool to the beginning so that at the end of the hike we can get back to the other car so that the hike doesn't become 120 miles. I live in Easton now and the Philly trains don't come up here. If someone want to meet at my place and then head to the end of the hike then that would be fine. I have no takers so far so when that happens, we will figure it out.
